HEALTH MINISTRY
John 10:10 "I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly."
Health Ministry is a scriptural based ministry that began at Faith Presbyterian Church in August 2005. We began this ministry through the Cone Health Congregational Nurse Program, of which our nurse, Lois Bazhaw, RN, FCN, is a member.
Long-range vision: The mission of Faith's Health Ministry is to guide people toward leading healthier lives by encouraging each person to take responsibility for their holistic health and spiritual well-being; body, mind, and spirit. The church has this vision not only for the members of the congregation, but also desires to extend our ministry of health to our surrounding community.
The Health Ministry is lead by Lois and her Health Ministry Committee. The members of the Health Ministry Committee are Carolyn Campbell, Sandra Henderson, Peggy McGuire, and Rev. Jim Rissmiller. These individuals help select topics for programs, decide on outreach activities, and ways we can be visible and inclusive in our community.
Lois makes visits to individuals at home, in the hospital, and nursing homes. Health education is provided through special programs, bulletin boards, and newsletter articles.
